Auto Duct Line with Notching ADF-N by EBR METAL

The Auto Duct Line with Notching is an automatic duct line that also cuts every notch a self-flanged duct needs. The notching unit is hydraulic. Its four dies, two right and two left, work inside the line, so one machine produces plain rectangular and square duct, duct with separate slip-on flange profiles, and self-flanged duct. The rest matches our 3-coil line: PLC control, a 3-coil selector, servo-driven dimensions and a hydraulic unit at 80 bar. No compressed air is needed (catalogue: Auto Duct Former with Notching System, ADF-N).

General Features

  • Hydraulic notching unit with 4 dies (2 right, 2 left) performs all notching required for self-flanged ducts
  • Produces rectangular and square ducts, ducts with separate slip-on flange profiles and self-flanged ducts
  • 3-coil selector: three coils of different thicknesses can be loaded for easy changeover
  • Fully automatic operation with PLC control, with two sheet driver units, two stiffening units and a straightener included
  • Servo motor and servo reducer for accurate duct dimensions
  • Hydraulic unit at 80 bar, no compressed air required
  • Label printing unit and total consumption memory
  • Seam types: Pittsburgh, snap lock and Nulock
  • All features above are standard on every machine

Notching for Self-Flanged Duct on the Auto Duct Line

On a self-flanged duct the flange is formed from the duct sheet itself, so the corners have to be notched before the part is folded. The ADF-N cuts those notches in the line. Ducts that use separate slip-on flange profiles come off the same machine.

Where It Fits in Your Duct Line

Coil feeds in from the decoiler. After notching and folding, the edges of self-flanged duct are roll-formed on the TDF Flange Forming Machine, and seams are closed on the Duct Seam Closer. If you also want C-cleats from the line, see the Auto Duct Line with Notching & Cleat Forming. For straight duct without notching, look at the Auto Duct Line with 3-Coil Selector. The full sequence is on the HVAC Duct Production Line page.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the notching unit do?

It cuts all the notches required for self-flanged ducts. The unit is hydraulic and has four dies, two right and two left.

Which duct types can the ADF-N produce?

Rectangular and square ducts, ducts with separate slip-on flange profiles, and self-flanged ducts. Seam types are Pittsburgh, snap lock and Nulock.

How much duct can it produce in a day?

At a feeding speed of 6 m/min, a 250 × 250 mm duct takes about 1.35 minutes, for up to 650 m² of duct in an 8-hour shift.

What is the smallest duct it can make?

The minimum duct size is 150 × 150 mm, for sheet from 0.5 to 1.2 mm.

Does it also form C-cleats?

No. C-cleat forming is added on the Auto Duct Line with Notching & Cleat Forming (ADF-NC).
