Hand Operated Machines for HVAC Workshops

Hand operated sheet metal machines from EBR METAL for HVAC workshops: manual beading machines, hand-lever guillotine shears, manual folding machines and slip rolls.

Short runs, repairs, round pipe and special fittings still get made by hand. EBR METAL has built guillotine shears and sheet metal bending machines in Konya since 2002, and our manual sheet metal machines for duct shops come in four families that cover that hand work. Every model’s main specifications are listed below, so you can compare before you ask for a quote.

Hand Operated Sheet Metal Machines for Duct Shops

Beading Machine KT 0.8 / KT 1.2 / KMT 1.2 by EBR METAL

Beading Machine

KT 0.8 / KT 1.2 / KMT 1.2

Manual and motorized beading machines with a cast iron frame, for 0.8 and 1.2 mm sheet. Eight roll sets come as standard (seven on the KT 0.8). The motorized KMT 1.2 has a foot pedal and its own stand. Trimming is available on request.

Manual Guillotine Shear KMH 1020 / 1270, a hand operated sheet metal machine by EBR METAL

Manual Guillotine Shear

KMH 1020 / KMH 1270

Hand-lever guillotine shears with a welded steel body, a large table, mechanical sheet clamping and a 0–600 mm manual back gauge. Shearing lengths of 1050 and 1280 mm, up to 1.5 mm sheet.

Manual Folding Machine CMH 2060 / 2560 / 3060 by EBR METAL

Manual Folding Machine

CMH 2060 / 2560 / 3060

Manual folding machines with 2060, 2560 and 3060 mm working lengths and a folding angle up to 135°. A slitting attachment is optional.

Slip Roll Machine MR / SR / MSR by EBR METAL

Slip Roll Machine

MR / SR / MSR

Three-roll machines for rolling sheet into cylinders and curved parts. The MR is a bench-top slip roll, the SR is the manual version on a stand and the MSR is motorized. Useful lengths from 600 to 2050 mm, with wire grooves at the roll ends.

Specifications by Machine Family

Sheet thickness capacities are given for ST37 (S235JR) mild steel, yield strength 235 N/mm² (24 kg/mm²). Galvanized sheet has the same capacity. For stainless steel, plan on roughly half as a rule of thumb.

How to Choose a Hand Operated Machine

Cutting blanks? The KMH shears cut straight up to 1.5 mm. Pick the KMH 1270 if your blanks are longer than 1050 mm. Use the front set-square for angled cuts and the millimeter scale for square ones.

Folding duct sheet and flashing? Choose the CMH by the longest fold you make. The 3060 folds up to 1.0 mm, the two shorter models up to 1.2 mm.

Rolling round pipe and collars? For light work and short lengths the bench-top MR is enough, though its capacity drops as the length grows, from 1.2 mm at 600 mm to 0.8 mm at 1270 mm. The SR adds a stand and goes up to 2050 mm and 2.0 mm. Rolling many parts a day? The motorized MSR does the same sizes with a brake motor and a foot pedal, so both hands stay free to guide the sheet.

Beading or edging round parts? The KT 0.8 and KT 1.2 are manual and light enough to carry around the workshop. For regular beading work there is the KMT 1.2, on its own stand.

Manual, Bench or Motorized?

Manual machines need no power connection and suit short runs, repairs and one-off fittings. Once the same job repeats all day, a motor saves the operator a lot of effort. Two models in this category have one, the KMT 1.2 beading machine (0.75 kW) and the MSR slip roll (0.75 or 1.5 kW), and both run on 380 V / 3 Ph / 50 Hz. Everything else is fully manual.

What Comes Before and After

Hand operated machines often take the parts that are not worth setting up a line for. Blanks cut on the KMH can be folded on the CMH or rolled into a cylinder on a slip roll. Round pipe with a longitudinal lock seam goes through three steps. The pipe lock edge is rolled on the Pittsburgh Lock Former, the sheet is rolled on a slip roll, and the Pipe Lock Seamer closes the seam. A KT or KMT beading machine then adds beads or edges to the pipe ends.

For machine-made straight cuts from coil, use the Cut-to-Length Line. Stiffening beads across rectangular duct sheet are rolled on the Z Beading Machine. See the full HVAC Duct Production Line.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are hand operated sheet metal machines used for in a duct shop?

The jobs that do not justify setting up an automatic line. The four families cover cutting (KMH), folding (CMH), rolling (MR / SR / MSR) and beading (KT / KMT).

Is the manual folding machine a box and pan brake?

No. A box and pan brake has a segmented upper beam for folding four-sided boxes and pans. The CMH is a manual folding machine for long, straight folds in duct sheet, with working lengths up to 3060 mm.

Which slip roll should I choose: manual, on a stand or motorized?

The MR is a bench-top slip roll for light work up to 1270 mm. The SR stands on its own frame and takes longer and thicker sheet, up to 2050 mm and 2.0 mm. Choose the MSR when you roll the same parts in volume and want motor drive. It needs a 380 V / 3 Ph / 50 Hz supply.

What sheet thickness can these machines handle?

Up to 1.5 mm on the KMH shears, 1.0–1.2 mm on the CMH folders, 0.6–2.0 mm on the slip rolls depending on the model, and 0.8 or 1.2 mm on the beading machines. All values are for ST37 (S235JR) mild steel.

Can I use galvanized or stainless sheet?

Yes. Galvanized sheet has the same capacity as ST37 mild steel. Stainless is harder, so as a rule of thumb plan on about half the listed thickness. Tell us your material when you ask for a quote and we will check the model against it.

Are replacement blades and roll sets available?

Yes. KMH shear blades and KT / KMT roller sets are sold separately. Spare parts usually ship from stock.

What is the smallest diameter a slip roll can roll?

About 1.5 times the top roll diameter.

What is the delivery time?

Many EBR METAL machines ship from stock. Built to order, a machine currently takes about 2–3 weeks. The quotation confirms the date for your order.

Not sure which machine you need?

Tell us your duct types, sheet thickness range and production target, and we will recommend a setup.
