The Duct Flanging Machine prepares the male side of Pittsburgh and snap lock joints. Every Pittsburgh or snap lock needs two matching edges, and this flanging machine forms the male one, a flange edge of 8 or 10 mm on sheet from 0.5 to 1.0 mm. Because it works independently of the part’s forming geometry, you can prepare the edge on duct parts and fittings alike. Speed adjusts for large and small parts. The machine runs on a single-phase supply (catalogue: Flanging Machine, FLM).

How the Flanging Machine Fits Pittsburgh and Snap Lock Joints
The female side of the joint, the Pittsburgh pocket, is rolled on the Pittsburgh Lock Former. The FLM forms the male edge that goes into it. Once the parts are joined, the lock is closed on the Pittsburgh Seam Closer or the Duct Seam Closer. The full sequence is on the HVAC Duct Production Line page.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does a duct flanging machine do?
It forms the male edge of a Pittsburgh or snap lock joint, so the part can be locked into the matching female profile.
Which flange heights can it form?
8 mm or 10 mm, on sheet from 0.5 to 1.0 mm.
Can I adjust the speed for small parts?
Yes. A speed adjustment control lets you run large and small parts at different speeds.
What power supply does it need?
Single-phase 220–230 V, 50–60 Hz. The machine is rated at 1 kW.
